Top things to do in Tampa Bay for the week of March 12-18

St. Patrick’s Day: Everyone’s favorite Irish holiday falls on Saturday this year, which ups the ante on local celebrations. Tampa goes fully green, starting with the Paddyfest Street Festival, when Rome Avenue shuts down on Friday and Saturday and features live music, contests and a Lightning rally. ($15 Friday, $20 Saturday; paddyfest.org). Also Saturday, the Hillsborough River gets dyed green at theRiver O’Green Fest at Curtis Hixon Park, with live music, beer, food, a scavenger hunt and a leprechaun costume contest. Free. That night in Ybor City, krewes from across Florida celebrate with beads and floats in theRough Riders St. Patrick’s Night Parade down Seventh Avenue at 8 p.m.

Date night

Music: Grammy winner Jason Mraz has a sold-out show Saturday at St. Petersburg’s Mahaffey Theater; there’s a Doo Wop Reunion that day with Bobby Rydell and the Coasters at Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall ($45-$95). Sunday, ’80s pop icon Tiffany plays Tampa’s Straz Center ($34.50-$39.50), and rockers Foreigner take Ruth Eckerd Hall ($53.25-$103.25).

Jay Mohr: The SNL alum and Jerry Maguire star brings his standup act to the Improv Tampa Thursday-Saturday ($30).

Ana Gasteyer: Another SNL alum performs a cabaret act Sunday at the Straz ($35.50).

Gasp! The performing arts festival returns to the Tampa Museum of Art on Friday with an eclectic showcase of theater, dance, poetry, improv and visual art, with artists performing in and around the museum. $25-$30; $55-$60 VIP.

Country in the Park: The annual Pinellas Park festival brings Grammy-winning country band Diamond Rio for a free show. There’s also monster truck rides and children’s activities. Free.

Chasco Fiesta boat parade: Up to 50 wildly decorated boats will parade down the Pithlachascotee River in New Port Richey. Begins at 1 p.m. Saturday in Millers Bayou at Sims Park, 5547 Main St.
