The offensive procrastination must end for USF — now. The Bulls have totaled 26 first-quarter points in their past five games, lowlighted by a scoreless opening period Saturday. That won't cut it against the Houstons and Temples (or even Tulanes) of the world.
After warming up in their standard all-green uniforms, the Bulls emerged moments before kickoff in their Adidas all-blacks for the first time ever — and possibly the last. "That's why I always say this, you don't ever change your uniform," coach Charlie Strong said. "You change your uniform, guys (focus) on the way they look instead of the way they play."
The Bulls may have set a collective season high for bad body language Saturday. Hands periodically were hoisted in frustration, and some players bore somber looks afterward. Stands to reason.
