Growing up, Kevin Knox II watched videos or listened to motivational tapes during car rides to and from school so he could learn how to expand upon answers in interviews.
That was all by design.
His father, Kevin Knox Sr., knew about the spotlight as a former receiver for FSU and the Buffalo Bills. He wanted his son to be ready for any kind of question.
The preparation paid off during the NBA's vetting process of potential picks.
Reporters wanted to know what was the strangest question someone has asked Knox II leading up to the draft. He said one NBA team wanted to know if he not only had a baby on the way, but the name of the child.
Knox II was unflappable.
"They kept pressuring me to see how I'd react, to see if I'd budge," Knox II said. "But I didn't budge at all because I have no baby."
