This is Admiral Farragut's second trip to the state semifinals in the past three seasons. The Blue Jackets have won five straight. Four of their five losses were to teams in higher classifications, three of which made the playoffs. The offense is averaging eight runs per game during its recent win streak. John Carroll is the defending state champion. Last year, the Rams rolled through postseason, outscoring opponents by a combined 46-2 in four playoff games. It has not been as easy this season. John Carroll started off 4-11 before reeling off seven straight wins to get back to the state semifinals.
