TAMPA— The Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg confirmed Thursday that the three men involved in the Bayshore Boulevard crash that killed an Ohio mother and critically injured her 21-month-old daughter are recent graduates of Tampa Catholic High School.
In a statement, the Diocese said they’re praying for the victims.
"Our prayers and hearts go out to the young mother who died, the child who is recovering and all affected by this tragic loss of life," said Teresa Peterson, executive director of communications for the Diocese.
On Wednesday, Cameron Herrin, 18, and John Barrineau, 17, were street racing on Bayshore Boulevard when Herrin hit and killed Jessica Raubenolt while she was pushing her daughter in a stroller across the street. The daughter is fighting for her life at Tampa General Hospital.
The Diocese said Herrin and Barrineau graduated from Tampa Catholic High School on Monday. Herrin’s brother, Tristan who was a passenger in Cameron’s car, graduated in 2016.
