After a hit-and-run crash that killed one high school student and left another in critical condition, police said Kristopher Martinez-Roman fled Lancaster, Pa., for Tampa Bay.
Martinez-Roman, 23, was arrested Tuesday by the Tampa Police Fugitive Apprehension Squad and a U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, according to a Lancaster police report.
He has been charged with two counts of accidents involving death or injury, two counts of accidents involving death or injury while not properly licensed, and several traffic citations, according to Lancaster police.
The May 24 crash killed Isaia Candelario, 16, and seriously injured another student who has yet to be identified.
Lancaster police suspect Martinez-Roman had fled to Tampa and shared that information with Tampa police. He is now in custody awaiting extradition to Lancaster County.
