Driver in fatal Tampa hit-and-run turns himself in

TAMPA — The driver who was sought in a fatal hit-and-run on Sunday night has turned himself in.

Police say Roger Herelle, 33, told detectives Wednesday he was involved in the crash that killed Sally Ann McClellan Webb, 58.

Police had had been seeking the driver in the crash that killed Webb around 9:15 p.m. as she stepped into the northbound curb-lane at N Nebraska Avenue at E Linebaugh Avenue. The driver continued north on N Nebraska Avenue.

On Monday, police released video of the vehicle, which was described as a light-colored, older model car that is elevated and may have a vinyl roof.

Herelle was arrested on Wednesday and is being at the Hillsborough County Jail held in lieu of $15,000 bail on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash with death.
