PLANT CITY — A man died Saturday night after he was stabbed inside his home by a neighbor, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Moses Wilson, 49, got into an argument with James Michael Meeks, 23, both of whom live at 4308 James L. Redman Parkway south of Plant City, about 10:10 p.m., deputies said. Meeks threatened Wilson with a pocket knife, according to investigators, forcing Wilson to retreat inside his home, which was also his business. He fixed cars, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Meeks followed, and witnesses told detectives they saw Meeks stab Wilson in the legs. Wilson sustained two knife injuries to his left leg and one to his right, investigators said. Deputies tended to Wilson but were unable to save his life.
The property appeared to be for sale. A description of it on realtor.com said it contains five rental units and includes a produce stand, two mobile homes and a storage building. Meeks and Wilson lived on the property as neighbors, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Meeks was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder and a separate warrant charge for failing to pay child support. He was held without bail Sunday at the Hillsborough County jail.
