Deputies: Cheerleading coach sent explicit images to 16-year-old

A 28-year-old cheerleading coach faces charges for engaging in "inappropriate behavior" with a 16-year-old girl, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Victor Martin Valenty faces 10 counts of traveling to meet a minor, distributing obscene material to a minor, unlawful use of a two-way communication device and obscene communication allowing the use of computer pornography, officials said.

The victim was not identified by the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Valenty is a cheerleading coach at Storm All Stars in Brandon, and that’s where he met the victim. Valenty sent her explicit images of himself to the victim via SnapChat from spring 2016 through May 2017.

He also traveled from his home at 1423 Old Village Way in Oldsmar to pick up the victim in Hillsborough County and brought her back to Pinellas County to "engage in sexual activity," according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Hillsborough officials said the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating Valenty and that he may face more charges.

Detectives ask anyone who believes they are a victim or have any information about this case to call (813) 247-8200.
