PLANT CITY — Two people were injured when a small plane crashed near the Plant City Airport Thursday afternoon.
It took firefighters about 10 minutes to locate the plane, which went down in a metal scrap yard located in the thick woods lining Airport Road at about 2:30 p.m., according to Plant City Fire Rescue.
Both of the plane’s passengers had minor injuries, and only one was taken to a hospital, fire rescue staff said.
Plant City police are also on scene at the crash.
