PORT RICHEY — A 59-year-old Spring Hill man was killed Sunday night in a crash on State Road 52, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at about 8:15 p.m. James Quick was driving a Subaru Outback east on State Road 52.
Coming in the opposite direction was a westbound 2015 Jeep sport-utility vehicle driven by Joseph Catalano near Canyon Boulevard. The Outback then turned left in front of the Jeep SUV, troopers said, causing it to strike the driver’s side of the Outback.
Quick was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Quick, who the FHP said was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, was later pronounced dead. Catalano was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The FHP said alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Catalano faces no charges, troopers said.
