NEW PORT RICHEY—A 15-year-old student was arrested Wednesday on allegations that he threatened to stage a shooting attack on River Ridge High School, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
The student attended Schwettman Education Center, deputies said, and faces a charge of falsely reporting a bomb or firearm threat.
He admitted to calling a River Ridge student and threatening to "have people shoot the school up" in an attempt to scare her, according to an arrest report.
The River Ridge student told deputies the Schwettman student threatened to "blow up the school and everyone in it," the report said.
The student later told deputies he did not intend to attack the school, deputies said. The identity of the student was withheld.
