Sheriff: Roads reopen after Tampa crash results in natural gas leak near Citrus Park Mall

TAMPA — Officials reopened roads near Citrus Park Mall Saturday evening that had been closed in the afternoon for a natural gas leak caused by a car crash, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to the crash behind the mall Saturday afternoon on Citrus Park Drive. Officials said the area was evacuated at the time and shut down from Gunn Highway and Citrus Park Drive West to Sheldon Road.

Tampa Electric Co. and Fire Rescue shut off the gas lines, and there is no danger, the Sheriff’s Office said
