WESLEY CHAPEL — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has identified a body discovered Saturday in a wooded area as a 60-year-old Hillsborough County man.
Two people flagged down a deputy Saturday to report a decomposing body in the woods north of Beardsley Drive, the Sheriff’s Office said Monday. Deputies found the body, "highly decomposed," in what appeared to be a camp site and identified the man as Robert Hines based on an identification card found near the body.
Hines had not been reported missing, deputies said. After contacting Hines’s next-of-kin, deputies learned he had several medical issues.
A medical examiner investigator who responded to the scene noted nothing suspicious, deputies say. The case is still under investigation.
