Dade City man killed in early morning hit-and-run, police say

A Pasco County man was struck and killed in an apparent hit-and-run early Saturday, police said.

Thomas Michael Burdeshaw, 53, who lived on Sundance Drive in Dade City, was hit about 1:45 a.m. on the 36000 block of Blanton Road, police said.

Witnesses told police Burdeshaw was lying near the edge of the busy road on the south side of Blanton, east of Michael Street, before he was struck, said Lt. Brian A. Uppercue, spokesperson for Dade City police.

One witness who went to check on him said that Burdeshaw’s position had changed and that he appeared to have been hit by a vehicle, Uppercue said.

Pasco County Fire Rescue pronounced the victim dead just after 2 a.m.
