The Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce will host the 30th annual Trick or Treat Street from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 27) at Riverview High School, 11311 Boyette Road.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation will join the chamber as co-hosts. The event annually draws thousands of kids in costume.
The purpose of the event is to create a safe place for children of all ages to have fun and share in the tradition of trick or treating while meeting local businesses, churches and other local organizations. Local residents flock to get candy, play games, enjoy bounce houses, eat food and win prizes.
There will be many free activities and extended activities and food available at nominal costs.Businesses will participate by dressing up, decorating their booth and distributing candy or small toys to children. Awards will be given to the best booth design in several categories.
There will be a kids and dogs contest. The kids costume contest will provide prizes for a $5 registration at the event. Costume times for kids include 3 p.m. for ages 0-3, 3:30 p.m. for ages 4-7, 4:30 p.m. for ages 8-11 and 5 p.m. for ages 12-15.
Dog owners can bring their canine friends in costume for the Four Paws Veterinary Hospital Dog Costume Contest. Registration is $10 donation to benefit C.A.R.E. The contest will kick off at 4 p.m. for all size dogs.
Admission is free and trick or teat bags are provided.
