TAMPA — Traveling might be considered closer to a nightmare than a dream for many. But that might be different for those who travel through Tampa International Airport. It was ranked the No. 3 overall best airport in North America by Sleeping in Airports, a travel site that tracks the best airports to catch some Zs in.
"The best airports in North America fuse essential airport amenities with thoughtful local touches," the travel site said in a release earlier this week that was touted by TIA on social media Thursday.
Tampa made the list because of its "hub-and-spoke" design, clear signage, friendly staff, copious power outlets, free WiFi and wide restaurant selection.
Airports were judged based on "sleepability," dining options, cleanliness, seating at gates, rest zone availability, immigration and security, customer service and how easy they are to navigate.
