Seminole man faces DUI manslaughter charge in motorcyclist’s death

A Seminole man is being held on a charge of DUI manslaughter after he fatally struck a motorcyclist in Largo on Thursday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 59-year-old Steven Lee Clarke was driving a 2012 Lincoln MKX eastbound on 102nd Avenue North, near 98th Street North, when he turned into the path of a motorcycle driven by 31-year-old Matthew Deremer, of St. Petersburg.

Deremer died at the scene, troopers said.

Clarke was arrested and faces a charge of DUI manslaughter ad failure to yield right-of-way. He is being held at the Pinellas County Jail on 20,000 bond, jail records show.
