CLEARWATER — A 67-year-old man is accused of using a forklift to pin his girlfriend against a bus, according to Clearwater police.
Colin Lee Showard, faces a charge of aggravated battery in connection with the Sunday night incident which took place along the 2100 block of Calumet Street.
Police said the Showard was arguing with a woman, who was trying to leave. Showard then got into a forklift, the arrest report said, and used it to pin his girlfriend — who was in his car — against a bus.
The woman suffered a back injury, police said.
Showard admitted to the offense, according to police, saying he committed the act because he didn’t want the woman to leave.
