TAMPA — A 19-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with an armed home invasion in the city’s Hyde Park area, according to Tampa police.
Leo Butler faces a charge of robbery of less than $300. He was still in the county jail on Monday, held in lieu of $15,000 bond.
Police said Butler and three other men took part in the armed robbery of an unidentified 77-year-old man who lives on the 400 block of S Willow Avenue last month.
The man was unloading groceries from his car when, police said, he was ambushed by two men near his garage. Two others waited in a nearby car.
The 77-year-old was forced into his home at gunpoint, police said, which they ransacked. The men stole other items, according to police, including a firearm.
Investigators found a fingerprint inside the home that they said led them to Butler. Police are still searching for the other three men.
