DOVER — Tampa Bay may be one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the nation but, in certain places, it stubbornly remains a little bit country.
Proof of that came on last week when the Hillsborough County’s Sheriff’s Office was called to the intersection of Mud Lake Road and Bugg Road to pick up a stray found running loose on July 11.
The animal in question wasn’t a dog or a cat, but what sheriff’s spokesman Danny Alvarez called a "beautiful" adult gray gelding horse.
The sheriff’s agricultural unit captured the animal, which was found to be in good health.
Bemused officers took to social media to try and find its owner, and the good news arrived days later on Monday afternoon.
