Brush your teeth with Jack Daniel's and put on your grandpa's hand-me-downs, because Kesha and Macklemore are teaming up for a summer tour.
The pop outcasts-turned-heroes will hit the road for a 30-city trek that includes a stop at Tampa's MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Aug. 5. Tickets are $22.50 and up and they go on sale at noon Friday. Click here for details.
For Kesha, the return to major venues like this is yet another step on a long-in-the-works comeback following her bitter legal entanglement with Dr. Luke, the writer-producer behind hits like Tik Tok, We R Who We R and Timber. After years of fighting against having to work with a man she said abused her, Kesha this summer released Rainbow, featuring the stirring redemption single Praying, both of which have been nominated for Grammy awards.
As for Macklemore, he is billed here as performing without producing collaborator Ryan Lewis, but that's unlikely to stop him from delivering hits like Thrift Shop, Can't Hold Us and Downtown. He, too, has a new album, Gemini, which features an appearance by — hey, look at that! — Kesha herself on Good Old Days. Maybe we'll get a duet this summer.
