CULBREATH ISLES — Red was the color of the day as about 125 guests — most wearing red dresses, jackets or ties — gathered for the annual Red Cross Angels Silver Coffee.

Stephen and Marsha Dickey opened their home for the Nov. 13 event, sponsored by the support organization with proceeds benefiting the Red Cross’ work with the armed forces.

Angels founders, president Renee Vaughn and representatives of the American Red Cross Tampa Bay Chapter greeted the guests.

Pauline Holovak and Alvie Whitaker were co-chairwomen with Beverly Austin and Mary Jane Martinez as honorary chairwomen.

Guests sampled ham salad sandwiches on miniature rolls, asparagus sandwiches, homemade cookie bars and candies, and Russian tea punch as they admired the waterfront home.
