•Stay fit and raise money to help prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases at the same time. Join individuals, community and corporate teams and families for the Arthritis Foundation's Arthritis Walk beginning at 8 a.m. at Lowry Park Zoo, 1101 W. Sligh Ave. Walk either the 1-mile or 5K. •The Central Avenue Festival in the Park will take people back to the days of bingo, scavenger hunts and doing the twist.The event will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Perry Harvey Park, 1200 N. Orange Ave. Other activities include a basketball tournament at 10 a.m.,a scholarship awards ceremony at noon, a fashion show at 1 p.m. and live entertainment at 5 p.m. A pie-eating contest and toddler races also will be part of the fun. ALL WEEKEND
•What better way to celebrate mom than to surround her with orchids and roses? The Orchid and Rose Fantasy will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the University of South Florida Botanical Gardens, located on the corner of Pine and Alumni drives on the USF campus, 4202 E. Fowler Ave. The free event will feature vendors, experts and free orchid plants for the first 100 mothers on Sunday. For details, call (813) 974-2329.
