After-School Programs

SUZUKI VIOLIN: Tampa Suzuki Strings offers Suzuki violin lessons and group classes for all ages at 7902 W. Waters Ave., Suite F. Classes include toddler tunes and adult violin classes. Call (813) 889-7664.

BALLET SCHOOL: Center for the Arts Ballet School offers ballet for ages 3 to adult at the Scottish Rite Center, 5500 Memorial Highway. Class times and dates vary. The ballet program is ongoing through June. Call (813) 887-1979.

CHEERLEADING PROGRAM: The Little Gym of North Tampa is hosting a kids' cheerleading program for ages 3 to 12 at 15453 N. Dale Mabry Highway. Classes are offered 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays. Call (813) 962-6300.

Summer Camps

FIRE RESCUE CAMP: Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is hosting Youth Fire Rescue Summer Exploration camp from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. June 9-20 at Williams Middle School, 5020 N. 47th St. Orientation is May 17 at 2711 E. Hanna Ave. Attendees must be between the ages of 14-17. Cost is $35, including lunch. Call (813) 393-9429.

MIDDLE SCHOOL DAY CAMP: Grace Lutheran Church at Carrollwood is hosting a camp from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. July 7-11 at 3714 W. Linebaugh Ave. Students in grades fifth through eighth may attend. Cost is $50 per camper. Call (813) 961-8747.

ART PHOTO CAMP: InSight Studio, 1906 N. Armenia Ave., Studio 305, is hosting a summer art photo camp for kids June 9 through Aug. 4. The camp includes field trips and use of a darkroom. Children will learn how to use a camera and natural lighting, and how to compose a photo. Camp is for ages 9 to 17. Cost is $160 a week. Call (813) 390-3422.

ART, ORCHESTRA AND BAND: Carrollwood Cultural Center, 13345 Casey Road, is hosting summer arts and music camps for ages 8 to 18. Camps range from youth arts to orchestra and band. Call (813) 269-1310.

RECYCLE PROGRAM: On the first Wednesday monthly, drop off your recyclable items in the car-rider line from 7:30-8 a.m.

Continuing Education

COLLAGE CLASS: Richard Misiano-Genovese is hosting a collage class from 12:30-2 p.m. and 2:30-4 p.m. May11 at the Jacey Gallery, 4802 Gunn Highway Suite 114. Class is limited to 25 students. Call (352) 684-6571.

SOAP MAKING: Florida Coast Handmade Soap Co. offers three-hour classes on cold-process soap making. The class includes a recipe and materials to make up to 15 bars of soap. The class costs $45 and is held in the home of Christine Bock, 4123 Apple Blossom Road. To attend the class without making soap costs $20. Call (813) 335-3660.
