Wet start, but drier air to bring ideal conditions to Tampa area
Commuters could experience wet roads and possible isolated storms this afternoon, but it will be a small sacrifice for what Tampa Bay area residents will experience through the weekend. Overnight heavy rain drenched some areas, and some drizzle is lingering this morning, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. The rain should taper off, but the moist air could produce partly cloudy skies and a few afternoon thunderstorms, with highs in the low- to mid-80s and lows in the low-60s tonight. But drier air will move in from the north tonight, bringing sunny skies and pleasant conditions through the weekend. Highs each day will reach the low- to mid-80s, with lows in the mid- to upper-60s.
