Another pleasant day with slightly above-average temperatures is on tap today, but a strong cold front will give the Tampa Bay area its first real taste of fall later this week.
After a warm morning, highs will reach the low- to mid-80s under partly cloudy skies today, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Lows tonight will be in the low-60s.
Highs again will be in the low-80s on Tuesday, but the front — which currently is bringing the first arctic child of the season to the Midwest — will arrive overnight Tuesday. Temperatures on Wednesday morning will plunge into the low-50s, with highs Wednesday only climbing into the low-70s with a 20 percent chance of showers.
Temperatures will gradually warm back up heading into the weekend.
