There is no threat of rain today around the Tampa Bay region. Rather, the threat of searing, potentially record-setting temperatures.
Temperatures will already be in the low-80s by 9 a.m., and highs will climb into the mid-90s in some areas with a heat index surpassing 100 degrees under mostly sunny skies this afternoon, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Lows will drop into the upper-70s overnight. Another hot day is forecast for Thursday, with a 20 percent chance of an isolated shower.
