The last of Monday’s stormy rain is pushing through the Tampa Bay region, thanks to strong, gusty winds that will clear things out and set up a pleasant work week.
Some areas are seeing rain this morning, especially onshore as it tracks west from the Gulf of Mexico, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
But instead of rain, residents will have to deal with extreme windy conditions. Sustained winds in Tampa were 25 mph this morning, with gusts approaching 40 mph.
The clouds will thin by lunch time, and highs will reach 79 under gradually clearing skies and some pleasant breezes. Lows will be in the upper-50s.
Skies will be mostly clear heading into the weekend, with highs inching past 80.
