Storms form in east, push toward Tampa in afternoon
Sunny skies will give way to clouds later this afternoon as storms roll into the Tampa Bay area from the east. Temperatures will reach a season high of 90 with a 40 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. Those storms will form inland and push to the west, the strongest of which will be near the coast tonight. Similar conditions will remain into the weekend.
