Alligator Alley reopens again; troopers to monitor visibility
A portion of Alligator Alley was reopened late this morning, hours after it had been closed for a second time this week due to poor visibility. The Florida Highway Patrol had shut down the section of Interstate 75 between Mile Marker 101 in Collier County and Mile Marker 23, which is the U.S. 27 exit, in Broward County. State Road 29 in Collier was also reopened after closing for the second straight day. The roads were also closed early Monday due to fog and smoke from a nearby brush fire.Troopers will continue monitoring visibility conditions in the affected areas, the patrol said. Motorists were encouraged drive cautiously in the vicinity.
