After a chilly morning, temperatures will warm up quickly in the Tampa Bay area, ahead of a front that will bring rain heading into the weekend.
Temperatures are starting out in the low-50s — a bit higher along the coast — and will rise to seasonal highs in the mid- to upper-70s this afternoon under partly cloudy skies, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Lows will be in the low- to mid-60s.
Temperatures will warm to near 80 on Friday, but expect showers as a front approaches from the west. Rain chances are 60 percent, and will linger into Saturday before the rain clears out on Sunday.
