The Tampa Bay region could be seeing its last winter blast of the season.
Temperatures plunged into the 40s overnight, and feel even chillier thanks to northerly winds that are gusting to near 30 mph in some areas, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Highs will only reach 55 by noon and about 65 later this afternoon — about 15 degrees below normal — under sunny skies but with strong breezes.
Lows tonight will again dip below 50.
Thursday will be milder, with highs in the mid- to upper-70s, but with increasing cloud cover and winds shifting to the southeast.
Showers are expected on Friday and Sturday.
