No record heat, but mild conditions still prevail in Tampa area
The Tampa Bay area may not see a fourth consecutive day of record heat, but mild temperatures still prevail before a front brings slightly cooler weather and increased rain chances this weekend. Today’s high is expected to reach 87 under partly cloudy skies, short of the record high of 89, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. Rain chances are minimal today, and lows will drop to the upper 60s. Friday’s high will also reach the mid- to upper-80s, before a front arrives and stalls over the area Saturday, creating highs in the low-80s and a 40 percent chance of rain through the weekend.
