Morning rain possible in Tampa as moisture drifts off Gulf
The moist and humid air that has saturated the the Tampa Bay area in recent days could result in a wet commute for area motorists. Added moisture that is streaming east off the Gulf of Mexico is producing pockets of storms and stray showers, especially along the coast, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. The rain will continue through the mid-morning, ahead of another hot humid day with highs in the low-90s - a pattern that will last through the weekend. Our typical afternoon storms return later today, starting around lunchtime and most developing along I-75 and drifting east.Rain chances will lessen tonight, with lows dropping to the mid- to upper-70s.
