Tampa Bay area starts week with plenty of sunshine
A beautiful day is forecast for today and warmer temperatures are on the way for later in the week. Today should have plenty of sunshine and patchy clouds, said Jeremy Eisenzopf, meteorologist for News Channel 8, with high humidity, but it should be tolerable. Tampa Bay residents should see highs in the middle and upper 50s for inland areas overnight Sunday and near sunrise, according to the National Weather Service. Highs should be in the 60s along the Gulf coast. Summer temperatures arrive later in the week with the highs in the mid-80s by Tuesday and upper 80s inland. The National Weather Service said some areas might see highs in the 90s.Rain chances also return with a 20 percent chance of precipitation Wednesday and Thursday, and a 30 percent chance for the weekend, Eisenzopf said. Watch for fog outside the area on Monday, especially around Orlando and near Interstate 75 north of the Tampa Bay area.
