Today is shaping up to be the warmest day of an unseasonably mild week, but the sun will go away as a cold front approaches tonight.
After a mild morning and some possible patchy fog this morning, today’s high of 82 under partly cloudy skies will be about 10 degrees above normal, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. Lows will remain in the low-60s.
Clouds will build overnight as the cold front approaches, and there is a chance for a stray shower Friday morning before the best rain chances come Friday afternoon.
The front sinks to the south before stalling over the region, keeping rain chances intact for Saturday’s Gasparilla road races and into next week. Temperatures will remain in the upper-70s.
