How You Can Help

Published: May 21, 2006

Several local organizations are prepared to respond when and if they are needed. Training is offered to be part of our Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) or a disaster services volunteer. With training, you will have a better ability to recognize, prepare for, respond to, and recover from any disaster. These teams assist their neighbors until help arrives. Volunteers serve in shelters and, after the storm, provide emergency supplies and food for victims and emergency workers. If you would like to sign up or to volunteer in other ways, call Emergency Management at the number listed on your county map or contact the following groups:

United Way of Tampa Bay 813-274-0900 www.uwtb.org

Volu nteer Flor ida 1-800-865-8683 www.volunteerflorida.org
