Tuesday’s dry, pleasant conditions will be replaced by warm, humid air today, ahead of a front that could produce severe thunderstorms by the end of the week. Temperatures will reach the low-80s under mostly sunny skies and building humidity in the afternoon, with a 30 percent chance of storms, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. Lows will be mild tonight, in the low-60s. A storm system that produced heavy rain in Texas will push across the Gulf of Mexico, increasing rain chances on Thursday with highs approaching 80.
The best chance of stronger storms will be Thursday night in to Friday morning, Spann said. Once the front pushes through Friday morning, expect pleasant conditions this weekend with highs in the mid- to upper-70s.
