Hot, breezy Fourth of July for Tampa area

The Tampa Bay region can expect a reasonably dry, but hot and windy, Fourth of July with typical inland afternoon thunderstorms.

With Hurricane Arthur moving north, winds will shift from the east, creatiing the possibility of a morning shower along the coast, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.

Highs today will reach 90 with a 30 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms, with lows approaching 80.

Beach-goers should be aware of an increased chance for rip currents with a stiff wind coming off the Gulf of Mexico.
