While heat and humidity continue to fuel the Tampa Bay region’s sweltering conditions, more areas could see rain today.
Some areas are seeing coastal showers this morning, but the more significant rain chances will occur mainly inland by the middle of the afternoon, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Highs today will be around 90, with a 50 percent chance of scattered storms — some of which could produce heavy downpours and and lightning.
The rain could become more widespread tonight, spreading to coastal areas.
Rain chances will begin to lessen on Wednesday and heading into the weekend.
