A warming trend will bring unseasonable, near-record high temperatures to the Tampa Bay area today.
It will be mostly sunny with afternoon temperatures near 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
The record high in Tampa for today is 91, according to News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann.
Spann said temperatures will be about 2 to 5 degrees higher today than on Tuesday.
Lows will be in the mid- to low 60s, the weather service said.
The above-average heat continues through Friday, when a weak cold front will bring a chance for showers and a return to seasonable temperatures for the weekend.
