Early Tampa-area coastal rain pushes inland in afternoon
Winds continue to stream in off the Gulf of Mexico, generating early coastal showers that will move inland this afternoon. Some areas in Tampa Bay could see a few storms along the coast, but more predominantly east of I-75 later today, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. Highs will reach the low-90s with high humidity. The rain will ease at sunset, but could return Saturday morning along the coast. Heavier rains are expected inland in the afternoon.
