Dry air means less rain, more heat in Tampa area
Dry air in the atmosphere will keep rain chances down today around the Tampa Bay area, but they will inch up heading into the weekend as Tropical Storm Chantal tracks toward Florida. The dry conditions will drive temperatures into the low-90s today under sunny skies, with a 20 percent of a stray shower, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. Added moisture will bring the chance of rain to 40 percent on Tuesday. Chantal, which has formed in the Caribbean, is expected to approach the state by Saturday.
