Clouds will build ahead of a cold front that is passing through Tampa today, bringing rain followed by cooler temperatures tonight.
The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Hillsborough, Pasco and Polk counties that expired at 2 p.m. as the front, which is pushing from the north, produced strong winds and heavy downpours.
Portions of the northern Tampa Bay region saw heavy rain starting this morning, and the storms began moving through the immediate Tampa area around noon.
Highs today will reach 82, but lows will drop quickly into the low-50s tonight.
The front will stall to the south on Wednesday, with highs in the upper-70s under partly cloudy skies, before rain chances increase again on Thursday and into the weekend.
