Rain chances ramp up today in the Tampa Bay area, ahead of an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico that will produce potential thunderstorms on Thursday.
Some low clouds and haze will greet commuters this morning, and highs will approach 80 under mostly cloudy skies and chances of isolate rain mainly this afternoon, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Lows will be near 60.
The system will move in off the Gulf on Thursday, bringing rain by mid-morning. Showers are possible throughout the day, and will hang around until Friday, when things begin to clear out and set up another pleasant weekend.
