Chances for afternoon storms in Tampa linger through weekend
The start of June will mean a continuation of our summer-like conditions, meaning warm temperatures and a good chance of afternoon thunderstorms through the weekend. Highs again will approach 90, but with bit less humidity and calmer easterly winds, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. Those winds will push storms forming inland toward the Tampa Bay area tonight, bringing the best chance of storms in the afternoon near Tampa and early evening along the Gulf beaches. Lows each night will drop into the low-70s.
