The Tampa Bay area will have to endure one more day of soggy weather before things begin to clear out, setting the stage for an ideal work week.
Coastal residents could see some light drizzle this morning as rain pushes in from the Gulf of Mexico, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
The rain should diminish later this morning, though skies will remain cloudy with high in the low-80s.
Once again, a large low-pressure system in the Gulf will cause rain chances to pick up this afternoon, with another round of possibly severe thunderstorms popping up around the region.
Isolated showers could linger overnight, but drier air pushes into the region Saturday, creating only a 20 percent chance of rain.
The trade-off for this week’s rain is a pleasant work week, starting Sunday with more sunshine, highs in the upper-70s to low-80s, and lower humidity.
