The weekend is shaping up to be an ideal one for the Tampa Bay area, but only after enduring one more day of drizzly, cold and dreary conditions.
The cold front that blasted the South has passed, but clouds and rain — including pockets of heavier showers — will linger throughout the day, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Highs today will only reach the mid-50s, under cloudy skies and with gusty northeasterly winds that will add to the chill.
Rain chances will begin to diminish later this afternoon.
Temperatures return to normal on Friday, with highs in the low-70s under partly cloudy skies, and a pleasant weekend with highs near 80.
