Afternoon storms return to Tampa, but drier conditions on way
The Tampa Bay area could brace for another round of severe afternoon thunderstorms, before things start to dry out by Sunday into next week. Some areas may experience visibility issues as a light haze hangs around due to increased moisture in the air, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said. The storms will develop inland this afternoon and drift toward the west coast, tapering off after sunset. There is a 40 percent chance of an isolated thunderstorm today, with highs near 90 and clearing tonight.Saturday will be slightly warmer, with highs in the low-90s, and rain chances decreasing Sunday.
